After taking a few days to reflect on their Championship Play-Off Final victory over Sheffield Wednesday, Hull City have announced their retained list. Whilst Steve Bruce is taking time to consider his own future, the future of some players have become much clearer.

One has signed a new contract, whilst two more key players have been offered terms. Total professionals have been released and thanked for their efforts during their Hull City careers.

There is no major shock in hearing that experienced defender Ryan Taylor will be leaving the club. He mainly acted as cover of the course of last season and also had his injury problems as well. The 31-year-old signed as a free agent this time last year and went on to mainly play in the cup competitions.

After four seasons with the Tigers, Sone Aluko moves on. He played his part in two promotions and an FA Cup final during his time in Hull, scoring fifteen goals in the process. He has mainly been an impact substitute, although he has enjoyed runs in the side.

Central midfielder Tom Huddlestone and wide man Ahmed Elmohamady have been offered new deals by the club. Ex-Spurs and Derby man Huddlestone is currently on holiday, and prior to departing he revealed his uncertainty over his Hull future. He stated he hoped he would be offered terms as he wanted to stay. Elmohamady has become a big fans’ favourite since his permanent move from Sunderland after two loan spells. He can play either at right back or right midfield, possessing quality end product with his crosses.

Finally, goalkeeper Eldin Jakupovic will be staying after the club took up the option in his contract to hand him a further year. He has mainly acted as cover to Allan McGregor, but played in both play-off semi-finals against Derby County and the showpiece occasion versus Sheff Wed as well.
