Peterborough starlet vows to bounce back better than before

Peterborough United’s Jermaine Anderson thinks that his six-month spell out injured will allow him to become better.

Posh finished the season in 13th, eleven points behind eventual play-off final winners Barnsley however Anderson failed to appear in the final half of the season due to sustaining an anterior cruciate ligament injury in Peterborough’s 2-0 win over Luton Town in December.

However, after a lengthy time on the sidelines, Anderson is set to return to action and admits he can’t wait to get back playing.

“Straight after the injury I was obviously really disappointed but I soon picked myself up because I know that these things happen in football,” said Anderson.

“I have been focused on getting myself fit and fell that when I look back in a few years my time out will have made me stronger.”

Anderson faces a rigorous pre-season campaign which includes trips to the English Football Association’s national football centre, St George’s Park, to monitor and improve his fitness.

“I have been really busy in the gym getting myself in shape and I can’t wait till pre-season starts so I can start playing football again and joining in the with the rest of the squad.

“We have lots to look forward to next season and I’m really happy that Grant McCann has been appointed because he is someone that the whole squad has a good rapport with, but he can also be assertive.

“I am now focused on doing everything I can over the summer to impress the management team to get in the starting line-up for the first game of the season.”

Posh begin their pre-season campaign with a trip to Boston on July 9th, however, more friendlies are set to be announced.
