Bristol City ponder move for young Frenchman

Bristol City could once again look to reap the rewards from their overseas scouting network with The Robins understood to be considering a move for French striker Lys Mousset according to the Bristol Post.

It has been reported that scouts from Bristol City have travelled to France to watch Mousset in action for Le Havre in Ligue 2 and they have reported plenty of positives back to Robins manager Lee Johnson.

After gaining promotion to the Championship 12 months ago, Bristol City struggled to attract a number of their transfer targets to Ashton Gate over the summer resulting in the club widening their scouting network outside of the United Kingdom.

In July last year, The Robins signed another Frenchman in the form of Jonathan Kodjia from French club Angers for a transfer fee believed to be in the region of £2 million and the virtually unknown striker went on to become a huge success in the Championship scoring 20 goals in 48 appearances for the club.

Le Havre striker Mousset bagged 14 goals for the club last season and after the player’s good form the French club are bracing themselves for some transfer interest over the summer.

The Montivilliers born youngster boasts plenty of pace and can play both out wide and as a centre forward. Mousset has already represented his nation at Under 20s level and could develop into a top class player should he make the right decisions in the future.
