Retained List: Six let go by Bradford

Manager Phil Parkinson has been busy making preparations ahead of the next season with Bradford City. He has today announced his retained list, which reveals that six first-team members are to exit the club.

Two of those have already fixed up moves elsewhere. A further six are still in discussions with the Bantams to extend their contracts, whilst one apprentice has been offered professional terms.

Experienced striker Steve Davies will leave the club, having spent most of this season acting as a substitute. He ended the season scoring five goals, but the 28-year-old wants regular football at this stage of his career. The former Sheffield United and Blackpool forward will now look to fix himself up with a new club in time for pre-season.

Midfielder Billy Knott has spent a couple of seasons at the club, he has is free to fix himself up with another club. He started 17 League One matches last season, which was significantly reduced on the amount he started last season. The ex-Sunderland youngster, who also has England Under-20 caps, should have no trouble finding himself a new club.

Utility man Christopher Routis and left-sided Alan Sheehan both struggled for significantly game-time last season with the Bantams and they will also leave. Both have already agreed moves to Ross County and Luton Town respectively. Both have spent a couple of seasons at the Valley Parade, but Parkinson will be confident of replacing these.

Dylan Mottley-Henry and Sam Wright completes the list of those to move on.

Joe Brennan was injured for the entirely of last season, and Parkinson has invited him back for pre-season to prove his fitness and stake a claim for a new deal.

The following players are still in talks with the club over signing a new contract: Greg Leigh, Ben Williams, Nathan Clarke, Jamie Proctor, Joe Cracknell and James King.

Youngsters Daniel Devine has also been offered pro terms, in the hope he will continue his footballing education with the West Yorkshire club.
