Phil Parkinson

Four clubs interested in Bradford City boss

Four clubs, three currently playing in the Championship, are interested in Bradford City boss Phil Parkinson, according to The Sun.

Parkinson’s position as manager of Bradford is under scrutiny at the moment, with the club recently getting new owners.

It is understood that Bradford’s new owners, Stefan Rupp and Edin Rahic, want to appoint fellow German Uwe Rösler as the club’s new boss.  This decision would likely draw a lot of criticism, with Parkinson leading Bradford to a play-off place this season.

The uncertainty surrounding Parkinson’s job at the moment has attracted other clubs to come calling for his services.  It is believed that Championship sides Blackburn Rovers, Derby County and Nottingham Forest along with League One side Bolton Wanderers are keeping an eye on Parkinson.

Parkinson is a very popular figure at Bradford, and is one of the Football League’s longest serving managers having taken charge of the club in 2011.

Rösler’s most recent job was with Leeds United before he was sacked by the club after only two wins in 12 games in charge.

The German has also had spells with Brentford in League One, leading the club to the play-offs before leaving the following season, and Wigan Athletic in the Championship.  Rösler led Wigan to the play-offs also but was sacked the following season with the club in the Championship relegation zone.
