Sunderland looking to sign Leeds United star

Premier League outfit Sunderland are the latest club to be linked with interest in Leeds United youngster Charlie Taylor following his impressive season for the Whites.

The Black Cats narrowly avoided relegation this season and are keen to add strength and depth to their defensive options.

Winning the award for Leeds United’s Fan’s Player of the Year for his performances during this campaign, Taylor is one of the Whites most highly rated youngsters. He was also awarded the Yorkshire Evening Post Player of the Year award.

After breaking into the first team last year in his defensive left-back position, the former England Under-19 international has played 43 games this season in all competitions.

Chipping in with one goal and four assists, Taylor has a respectable 7.26 rating throughout all his appearances on whoscored.com.

Fellow Premier League clubs Arsenal and Liverpool have also been linked with the former Fleetwood Town loanee but it would take a big offer to prise the 22 year-old away from Elland Road.

In a recent interview, Taylor revealed his dream is to play Premier League football with Leeds and that “unless something drastic happens” he would remain with the Yorkshire club for the foreseeable future.
