Reading first team coach Chris Davies will become Brendan Rodgers’ assistant at Celtic according to the Daily Mail.
The 31 year old will move to Celtic Park, the famous old ground referred to as Paradise by supporters of The Hoops on 1 June and will link up once again with close friend Brendan Rodgers.
Davies has worked alongside Rodgers on two previous occasions when he was assistant to the Northern Irishman during spells at Swansea City and Liverpool. The former Reading defender has most recently been working as a first team coach at his former club but will now leave his role at the Madejski Stadium to move north of the border.
After graduating as a youngster from Reading’s academy set up, Davies looked to have the world at his feet with the defender regularly appearing for the reserve side to gain senior playing experience whilst also representing Wales on the international stage at Under 17 to Under 19 levels. Despite a promising start to senior football, the Watford born player’s career was cruelly ended at just 19 years of age after Davies sustained a horrific injury.
Davies gained his UEFA Pro Licence earlier this year and takes a wealth of coaching knowledge and experience with him to the Glasgow giants.
