QPR & Brentford monitor Premier League winger

The Liverpool Echo understands that Liverpool winger Sergi Canos could leave the club this summer after talks over a new contract have stalled. It is understood that Queens Park Rangers are interested in the player, as are Premier League side Watford.

The Mirror also suggests that Brentford, where Canos impressed in a loan spell last season, are open to potentially signing the Spaniard on a permanent deal.

Last season, Canos scored seven goals for the Bees during his season-long loan move from the Anfield club. He is soon to enter the final year of his contract with Jurgen Klopp’s men, but is supposedly unwilling to lower his wage demands to remain on Merseyside. The ex-Borussia Dortmund boss will check over the player in pre-season before deciding if it is worth pursuing with contract negotiations.

The 19-year-old made his first-team debut on the final day of the season away to West Brom, where Klopp rested several first-teamers with the Europa League Final against Sevilla taking place a few days afterwards.

The youngster is rated at £4million by the five-time European Cup victors, and it remains to be seen if either Brentford or QPR would be willing to pay that price. Perhaps a move to Watford could be more realistic, but again that could be dependent on the views of recently appointed Hornets boss Walter Mazzarri.
