Blues youngster set for Bristol City move

Birmingham City’s academy star Jack Collis is set to sign a professional deal with Bristol City according to the Bristol Post.

The 18 year old centre back has been offered a one year professional contract by The Robins which the player is expected to sign in the coming days after having successful talks with Bristol City manager Lee Johnson about his future development at the club.

The defender will make the short move down the M5 to a club which has a good recent record of developing young talent with academy products Zak Vyner and George Dowling having featured for the first team last season.

Collis has spent the past six years in the academy set up at Birmingham City and has trained with The Blues Under 21s side. The big defender is a Welsh Under 19s international and has been tipped to have a big future in the game.

The player will initially link up with Bristol City’s development squad and will work with The Robins’ Under 21s coach Wade Elliott during his time at Ashton Gate.

The signing of the young Birmingham City star demonstrates Bristol City’s dedication to improving the current senior squad at Ashton Gate while also building a squad of young players capable of growing into first team players in the future.
