QPR linked with move for Huddersfield Town defender

Queens Park Rangers are thought to be weighing up a move for Huddersfield Town defender Joel Lynch according to The Huddersfield Daily Examiner.

The 28 year old Eastbourne born defender put in some really impressive displays for The Terriers last season and QPR manager Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink is believed to be considering making an attempt to take the player to Loftus Road.

Lynch joined Huddersfield Town in summer 2012 after rejecting a new deal at former club Nottingham Forest and the player has gone on to make 122 appearances for the West Yorkshire club and has scored nine goals.

The defender started his career as a youngster at Brighton & Hove Albion where he made 79 appearances and scored two goals. Lynch had a spell on loan at Nottingham Forest during the 2008/2009 season and signed for the club on a permanent basis in summer 2009 after impressing during his trial spell at The City Ground.

Huddersfield Town are aiming to become a buying club rather than a selling club in the future and a summer of building is expected at The John Smith’s Stadium. Lynch is under contract with the club until summer 2017 therefore QPR will need to table a substantial bid if they are to have any chance of persuading The Terriers to let the defender leave the club.
