New manager favourite to take the helm at Leeds United

Leeds United search for a new manager continues and the latest name to be made favourite for the job is Bristol Rovers’ young manager Darrell Clarke.

According to the Bristol Post tonight, Clarke is now being targeted by Leeds owner Massimo Cellino to take over the soon-to-be-vacant position of managing the Whites.

Current boss Steve Evans is expected to leave the club at the end of his contract in June – if not sooner.

Earlier today it was reported that MK Dons boss Karl Robinson was expected to take the job, but recent developments in the past few hours have seen the 35 year-old reject an offer for the position.

The odds of Robinson being appointed the new boss at Elland Road have risen dramatically from 1/8 to 6/4, and seen Clarke become the new favourite at 1/1.

Formerly a player/manager at Salisbury City, the 38 year-old spent six years with the club winning promotions from both the Southern League Premier Division and the Conference South.

In March of 2014, he was appointed as manager of Bristol Rovers and has overseen their promotion from the Conference into the Football League and managed to secure a play-off spot this season.
