Lazio forward a possibility for Boro

Lazio forward Filip Djordjevic could be on his way out of Italy with Middlesbrough keeping a close eye on proceedings at the Stadio Olympico.

football-italia report that Middlesbrough could be interested in the Serbian international, who could show him the door as Lazio look to make wholesale changes to their forward line.

With Miroslav Klose leaving and Allesandro Marti’s loan ending, it is believed Djordjevic could follow out the door with a deal for Polish striker Arkadiusz Milik potentially on the cards. Milik, a Polish international striker at Ajax is the topic of transfer discussion for a number of clubs, scoring 21 goals for Ajax and Lazio could make an offer for him to lead the line in Serie A for them next season.

Serbian striker Djordjevic had a disappointing season for Lazio during the last campaign, with the 28 year old netting only three times in Serie A in 26 appearances.

He had a rather better ratio whilst playing for Nantes between 2008-2014 scoring 59 goals in 181 outings.

Djordjevic has scored 4 in 14 internationals for Serbia.

It’s no surprise to see newly promoted Middlesbrough linked with a forward, as many would expect them to strengthen in that area with Jordan Rhodes and David Nugent the only out and out strikers at the club. Christian Stuani can play as a centre forward but has not been utilised in that position by Karanka.

Aitor Karanka will be looking to add quality and experience to the squad for a squad going into a premier league campaign for the first time in 7 years.

Experience could be a priority for Karanka as a number of his players have yet to play top flight football.
