Hull City v Derby County – Match Preview

Just 90 minutes of football stands between Hull City and the Championship Play Off Final at Wembley as The Tigers prepare for their Semi Final Second Leg match against Derby County at the KCOM Stadium this evening.

City hold a comfortable 3-0 lead over The Rams from the First Leg after goals from Abel Hernandez, Jason Shackell (own goal) and Andy Robertson left The Tigers with one foot in the Championship Play Off Final.

Hull City go into tonight’s match with no new injury concerns. First choice goalkeeper Allan McGregor remains a doubt after picking up a recent back injury and Eldin Jakupovic is again set to deputise.

Derby County arrive in Humberside with a huge task ahead of them as they look to reach Wembley against all odds. The Rams will be without midfielder George Thorne who has a leg injury but Andreas Weimann could be set for a recall to the side.

In the entire history of the Football League Play Offs no team has ever surrendered a three goal First Leg advantage. Derby County boast a good record on their previous visits to the KCOM Stadium having scored on seven of their last eight visits to the ground. The Rams secured a 2-0 away success over The Tigers back in November.

Tonight’s fixture sees Hull City manager Steve Bruce celebrate his 200th match in charge of the club.
