Leeds face battle from Premier League and La Liga over target

It is becoming ever more evident, according to mutterings in various places, that Leeds United will dispense with the services of current head coach Steve Evans, even though Massimo Cellino admits he’s succeeded with his brief.

With Evans seemingly on his way out, the usual rumour mill has kicked in with names such as Walter Zenga, John Sheridan and the latest name being Watford’s soon-to-depart manager Quique Flores.

However, national paper The Express say that the Elland Road outfit could very well face interest for Flores’ services from the Premier League  and also Spain’s La Liga. Speaking on Friday of his upcoming departure from Vicarage Road, Flores said: “The club and me don’t have the same point of view about the season. We don’t have the necessary conditions to activate the clause to renew my contract so I will leave Watford as a consequence.”

The Express go on to state that Leeds will face a battle for Quique Flores’ signature saying that the ‘interest’ of Premier League side Southampton and La Liga side Espanyol is a ” major death blow” for the West Yorkshire side.

The Express justify their thinking saying that: “Saints could be without a boss if Everton decide to swoop for Ronald Koeman, and the Catalan side [Espanyol] are also in need of a new manager after a disappointing season.”
