Bruno Ecuele Manga

Palace, West Ham & Swansea chase Championship defender

Cardiff City central defender Bruno Ecuele Manga is attracting interest from a trio of Premier League clubs according to le10sport.com. In addition to French Ligue 1 side Rennes, it is understood that Crystal Palace, West Ham United and Swansea City are all monitoring the situation.

The Gabon international still has a year to run on his contract with the managerless Cardiff City Stadium club, and higher-level clubs are now hoping to sign him for a much-reduced price.

The players’ agent, Yvan Lee Mee, revealed that there is plenty of interest in the centre back, who has suffered with injury and Malaria over the course of this season.

“All I can tell you is that Premier League clubs are interested.

“With what he showed at Cardiff for two years, it is logical that Bruno is attracting the interest of the world.”

Manga has previously spoken of his desire to play at the highest level of English football. A few months ago he stated he hoped he could achieve that during his time with the South Wales club, but obvious interest from the top flight now could potentially lead to him considering an exit.

With Sean Morrison likely to be out of action long-term following an injury towards the end of the season, the new Cardiff boss faces the possibility of having a lack of defenders available to him. Therefore the club will be keen to retain Manga. Nevertheless, it is also key that they appoint a new manager as quickly as possible, so that the new man can make decisions on players and prepare the squad for another tilt at promotion.
