Leeds target Flores open to change

With it looking increasingly likely that Steve Evans’ time at Leeds United is over, the Leeds owner admitting that the Scot has accomplished the job he was brought in to do, Elland Road eyes are cast elsewhere.

The direction of these glances seems to have settled on ex-Watford boss Quique Flores, who is stepping away from Premier League side Watford at the end of the current season.

Flores, who has guided the Hornets to Premier League safety this season, compiling a record of 12 wins from 37 games so far, with just one game outstanding to end the season. With both parties having agreed that Flores will no longer be associated with Watford next season, this has reportedly  caught the attention of Leeds United owner Cellino.

At today’s press conference Flores said, as per Sports Mole, that he is open to offers but remaining in England’s top division is also an aim that he wishes to maintain. Quoted in Sports Mole, Flores said:  “Everything is possible. I’m open to anything. I love the Premier League – I love my relationship with the fans, the organisation and the media.”

With Flores being “open to anything” and with Cellino known for out-of-the ordinary appointments, this one could be one to watch with the soon-to-be ex-Watford manager installed as a 14/1 chance of being the next head coach at Elland Road.
