Leeds reveal new shirt sponsor deal

The past season saw Leeds United change shirt suppliers, switching from Macron to Kappa – something which needed an out-of-court settlement to solve.

Last season’s shirts were resplendent in the fact that there was no sponsorship deal emblazoned across the front of them. To all intents and purposes they were an updated throwback to the classic shirts of bygone years.

However, in news released today, Leeds United have bucked that ‘no sponsorship’ trend after a sponsor-less season and have brought on board a new shirt sponsor on a three-year deal.

32Red, an online casino company who have previously cut deals with Premier League sides Swansea and Aston Villa as well as Scottish giants Rangers, are to be the company on the front of Leeds United shirts for three seasons commencing from June 2016.

Leeds United’s executive director Paul Bell said of the newly-signed deal: “We are delighted to announce a three-year shirt sponsorship deal with 32Red PLC, the UK’s premier online casino entertainment brand. We are hugely excited by this partnership and the opportunities it will deliver for all involved.

“32Red are a modern, forward-thinking brand with a long-standing and successful history of sponsoring high-profile teams within football and we are delighted to welcome them into our commercial partners programme.”

32Red’s CEO Ed Ware expressed the company’s enthusiasm at managing to capture what they see as a high-profile name. Speaking of the deal, Ware said:

“We are delighted to be working with Leeds United Football Club, a true giant of English football with an amazing and passionate fan-base.

“We have a proud history of successful football club sponsorship deals and this is a fantastic opportunity to work with such an iconic club and showcase the 32Red brand. We look forward to our association with Leeds United over the coming seasons.”

Leeds United will be revealing their 2016/17 shirt over the summer with the 32Red logo appearing in blue against the white of the home shirt.
