Charlton Athletic chasing relegated Colchester United Star

According to recent reports the Addicks’ are chasing the England U18 International, George Moncur from the recently relegated side – Colchester United.

It is rumoured that George Moncur is planning on making a permanent transfer and move from the U’s as they were relgated down to League Two at the end of the 2015 / 2016 season, and the South East London side are in the running to secure the talent.

The former West Ham United prospect is expected to be valued around the £150,000 mark, and is being seriously considered as an effective target for the Addicks, who through recent signs with a potential Chris Wilder appointment, and rumours of restructuring – are definitely chasing for an instant promotion back to the Sky Bet Championship.

Despite the saddening relegation of the U’s back down to League Two for next season, Moncur was able to create 12 goals in a total of 42 appearances which are appealing statistics and can definitely be a key player next season for the Addicks.

This potentially effective signing is even more important for Charlton Athletic as it is not quite concrete who will be leaving and staying at the South East London side, but Moncur can be important in filling any gaps which are opened as a result of the relegation this season.
