Leeds United boss emerges as favourite to take over at Nottingham Forest

The vacant managerial role at Nottingham Forest has been linked with many potential bosses – but Leeds United’s Steve Evans is currently the favourite with the bookies to take charge.

According to Skybet, Evans is 6/4 to be in charge of Forest for their first game of the 2016-17 season. Martin O’Neil is second favourite at 5/1, with Karl Robinson in third at 10/1.

Dougie Freedman had been in charge of the club since February of 2015 but was sacked in March following a poor season for Forest.

Caretaker boss Paul Williams has temporarily taken the reigns at the City Ground but has managed to oversee just two wins from ten games.

Freedman left the club with a record of just 19 wins from his 55 games in charge and is yet to find a new job.

Forest finished the season in 16th place and are seemingly now looking towards Evans to take them higher.

Evans himself has struggled this season with Leeds and the Whites only managed to finish a lackluster campaign in 13th place.

Notable outsides for the job include Harry Redknapp at 40/1 and David Moyes at 25/1.
