This man joined the club at a time where their form was dipping and many felt it was inevitably that they would slip away from the promotion shake-up. Let us not forget that lengthy unbeaten run that the Seagulls enjoyed earlier this season and how much of a force they looked to be reckoned with. Knockaert was playing his football in Belgian with Standard Liege but when the phone call came from Brighton, he snapped up the opportunity to return to English football. Within weeks he brought those qualities to the Amex Stadium and the whole club felt the benefits of that.

There aren’t too many better sites in the Championship that seeing Knockaert running with the ball during a swift counter attacking move. He has been involved a large number of Brighton goals since signing, either scoring or creating. His tricky skills make him an absolute nightmare for full backs up and down the Championship. Knockaert certainly wouldn’t look out of place in the Premier League next season. His official signing fee was undisclosed, but you can imagine it is around the £2million mark, which is an absolute steal.
