Birmingham City linked with move for Addicks full back

Birmingham City are said to be interested in making a summer move for highly rated Charlton Athletic left back Morgan Fox according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 22 year old defender has been one of the few positives in a dour season at The Valley and his solid performances are reported to have impressed Birmingham City manager Gary Rowett.

Charlton Athletic will play League 1 football next season after suffering relegation from the Championship in a campaign which has also seen turmoil off the pitch with Athletic fans regularly protesting against owner Roland Duchatelet’s running of the club. With a huge rebuilding project needed at The Valley, it is understood that the South East London club could be willing to listen to offers for players.

Defender Fox is a product of Charlton Athletic’s academy set up and has made 44 appearances for the club this season scoring in the opening day 2-0 victory over Queens Park Rangers. The player’s regular good showings for The Addicks have seen Fox previously linked with a move to Premier League giants Manchester United.

The Chelmsford born left back is eligible to play for Wales and has seven under 21s caps to his name while he has also received call ups to the senior international team although the youngster is yet to make his debut for Chris Coleman’s side.
