Hull City 2 Brentford 0 – Match Report

Hull City’s recent good form in the Championship continued as The Tigers recorded a 2-0 home victory over in form Brentford on Tuesday evening.

Steve Bruce’s dominated large spells of the match at the newly named KCOM Stadium and while the club’s automatic promotion chances are over, The Tigers look to be in solid form ahead of the end of season Play Off matches.

Hull City took the lead just after the half hour against The Bees in slightly fortunate circumstances when a wicked cross from Andrew Robertson was diverted into his own net by Brentford defender Harlee Dean.

The Tigers could have added a second just minutes later when Alex Bruce was fouled by Jake Bidwell in the box but Bees keeper David Button was the hero of the hour when he saved Adama Diomande’s unconvincing spot kick.

On the stroke of half time, the home side did double their lead when Mohamed Diame netted at the second time of asking from close range.

There were no further goals in the second half as Hull City comfortably saw the game out without enduring any real pressure from the visitors to chalk up another three points in the Championship.

Hull City’s supporters have been left unsatisfied by owner Assem Allam’s decision to introduce a new membership scheme and axe season tickets ahead of next season and supporters feelings were made known during the match as they held up red cards in unity against the club’s owner. Many Tigers fans are demanding a change of ownership at the club after becoming dismayed with their current owner’s decisions.
