Arsenal linked with move for young Forest star

Premier League giants Arsenal are considering a summer move for Nottingham Forest youngster Oliver Burke according to the Nottingham Post.

The Kirkcaldy born winger has been one of the bright lights in Forest’s unimpressive season and his good form is understood to have interested Gunners manager Arsene Wenger.

The 19 year old is a product of the academy set up at The City Ground and made his senior debut for the club in September 2014 in a League Cup tie against Tottenham Hotspur. Following fellow winger Michail Antonio’s big money move to West Ham United last August, Burke has played a more important role for Forest this season and the player has made 22 appearances for the club scoring twice.

Scotland manager Gordon Strachan has also been impressed with Burke’s development and handed the young winger his full international debut in last month’s 1-0 win over Denmark.

Burke’s solid start to his career at The City Ground has seen the player sign a new four and a half year deal at the club which contracts the youngster to Forest until summer 2020.

Arsenal look set to offload wide pair Theo Walcott and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in the summer however The Gunners will have to make a significant transfer offer to Nottingham Forest to persuade the Championship club to sell one of their biggest assets.
