York City fell to their seventh consecutive away defeat on Saturday afternoon as they were defeated by Hartlepool United.

Nathan Thomas and Michael Woods scored the goals for Pools while Kyle Cameron’s first Football League goal proved to be little consolation for The Minstermen who had Dave Winfield sent off.

The result leaves York City 11 points adrift of safety with four matches remaining and after the match City fans took to Twitter to express their views.

York City’s relegation from League 2 will be confirmed on Tuesday evening should they fail to beat Portsmouth at Bootham Crescent or if Newport County beat Oxford United at Rodney Parade.
