Football League permutations this weekend

Sky Bet League Two

We will start at the top of the table for this one and Northampton Town could potentially seal the League Two title this weekend. The Cobblers have already ensured they will be back in League One next season, but aim to do so in style by virtue of collecting the league title as well. They travel to Exeter City, and bettering Oxford United’s result at home to Luton Town would confirm top spot. However there is one exception.

A Northampton draw and Oxford defeat doesn’t necessarily mean the title is on its way to Sixfields. Should that happen, then Chris Wilder’s men would be relying on third-placed Accrington Stanley failing to beat Morecambe at home.

Oxford, along with Accrington Stanley and Bristol Rovers could potentially guarantee themselves a play-off position this weekend as well. However much depends on the results of the many clubs in the chasing pack.

Towards the bottom and there is plenty to suggest that those two places are already nailed on anyway. Dagenham & Redbridge could potentially be relegated this weekend for definite. A victory against Leyton Orient will keep them in the league for a bit longer, as would a draw, or a victory for Newport County against Stevenage. Should Stevenage win, then a point for Dagenham will keep them up for now.

LETS NOT FORGET THE VANARAMA NATIONAL LEAGUE!

Cheltenham Town could make a swift return to Sky Bet League Two should they better the result of nearest challengers Forest Green Rovers this weekend.
