Russell Slade set for new Cardiff City deal

The immediate future of Cardiff City manager Russell Slade seems set to be resolved with the club ready to offer their boss a new deal according to Wales Online.

The 55 year old has endured a turbulent time in charge of The Bluebirds since his appointment in October 2014 with speculation regarding his long term managerial future at the Cardiff City Stadium a regular topic of debate.

In Slade’s first season in charge, Cardiff City finished the season in eleventh position leaving fans disappointed that the club could not secure a return to the Premier League at the first attempt after suffering relegation in 2014.

This season, attendances have often dwindled at the Cardiff City Stadium but the club’s on field performances have improved with the club currently sitting in seventh position in the Championship table, five points behind the Play Off positions.

Russell Slade initially struggled to win over The Bluebirds fans when he was appointed manager but has gained their support this season. It is understood that the City boss has seen his relationship with owner Vincent Tan improve and the Malaysian businessman is ready to offer Slade a new deal once the season ends.

Cardiff City are already planning for next season under Russell Slade’s management with the City boss making plans for potential new signings and pre season fixtures.
