Paul Caddis (Birmingham City) – Four penalties, four goals
The former Swindon Town man has scored the same as Middlesbrough’s Grant Leadbitter, but the Boro skipper has taken and missed two more as well. Caddis is the only player in the division who has a 100% record in taking penalties that have taken at least four spot kicks.
The soon to be 28-year-old is coolness personified when striking the ball from 12 yards out. Three of his four penalties have come in matches where it could be described as winning points. He helped seal a point away at Burnley, and helped seal one-goal margin victories over Cardiff City and Queens Park Rangers too. In addition to that, he was one of the many who got on the score sheet during the 5-2 away win at Fulham in November.
He is best remembered for scoring ‘that goal’ away to Bolton Wanderers which helped seal the point they needed to avoid relegation when Lee Clark was manager. However he could write a few more headlines with his penalty kick exploits in the future as well.
