Thierry Henry full of praise for Wolves youngsters

It’s not everyday that you receive praise from one of the greatest footballers to ever play in England, but the Wolves youth team woke up this morning to hear that Thierry Henry was impressed with them.

The former Arsenal legend was amongst the coaching staff as Arsenal U18s beat Wolves U18 side 2-1 on Saturday.

Wolves’ U18s manager Jerry Gill, who’s side more than matched Arsenal despite the scoreline, today confirmed that Thierry Henry had spoken to him at the end of the game.

Henry was especially impressed with an excellent team goal for the side from the Black Country.

Young Scottish striker Jordan Allan ended the move, which had started all the way back with the Wolves keeper.

“Thierry Henry has been doing some coaching with the young Arsenal players and was among the staff on the bench,” Gill said.

“He came over to us after the game and was very humble and told us how impressed he was with the goal that we scored.

“We were disappointed not to get a result but the performance level was high with a really young group and it gave us some positive stuff to look forward to next season.
