Derby County favourite set for long awaited return

Derby County fans favourite Will Hughes could be finally set for a first team return on Saturday when The Rams entertain Bolton Wanderers according to the Derby Telegraph.

The Rams face a Wanderers side which will be relegated to League 1 after a miserable season should they fail to win at The iPro Stadium.

Derby County recorded an excellent 4-0 home victory over fellow promotion chasers Hull City on Tuesday evening and if the victory wasn’t sweet enough for Rams fans things could get even better for the club this weekend with long term absentee Will Hughes set to be available for first team selection.

Star man Hughes has been out of action since suffering a serious knee injury in the goalless draw with Bolton Wanderers on the opening day of the Championship season. The 20 year old midfielder has been back in training for around six weeks and after featuring for the Under 21s side in a match at Fulham on Monday, Hughes is ready to return to competitive first team action.

Hughes is a product of the Derby County academy set up and the player has made 138 appearances for The Rams scoring 10 goals. The midfielder is also an England Under 21s international and has been tipped to go on to star for his country at senior level in the future.
