– 2 Watford

Four goals from substitutes helped Nottingham Forest come from behind to beat Watford 4-2 at the City Ground and extend their unbeaten run to 12. Watford went in at half-time with a 1-0 lead thanks to Gabriele Angella’s clever flick before he added his second on 47 minutes with a free header.

Forest sub Simon Cox pulled one back on 58 minutes after a good header back across goal from Guy Moussi and Darius Hendersen drew them level from a terrific cross from Andy Reid in the 73rd minute. The comeback was completed by the third substitute Jamie Mackie with eight minutes to go and Cox finished off the scoring in added time with a neat right-footed finish.

Nottingham Forest

Karl Darlow: Couldn’t do anything with the goals, made some good stops throughout. 7.0
Eric Lichaj: Wasn’t the best display, didn’t contribute much offensively or defensively 6.5
Jamaal Lascelles: Solid throughout, barely looked to have put a foot wrong. 7.0
Danny Collins: Didn’t organise his team at set-pieces, vulnerable to pace too often. 6.5
Dan Harding: Poor, couldn’t find a real foothold in the game and was terrorised by Anya all evening. 6.0
Gonzalo Jara: Did his best, switched play well but gave away the ball a little too often. 6.5
Guy Moussi: Came in to it after setting up the first goal, a battling secondhalf display. 7.5
Andy Reid: Fantastic in the second half, given too much time to wave that magic left foot. 8.0
Jamie Paterson: Full of endeavour that occasionally came off, best of a bad bunch in the first half. 7.0
Djamel Abdoun: Would never drive past a player but willing to get the ball, crossing was average at best. 6.5
Greg Halford: Surrounded by three defenders all game, couldn’t have the ball to feet, missed two good chances and offside at almost every free-kick. Inept display. 5.5

Substitutions

Simon Cox: Changed the game, could get it to feet and run in behind. Good instincts with his first, excellent finish for his second. 7.5
Darius Henderson: Went on to hassle the defence, scored a goal and helped inspire the team. He should have started instead of Halford. 7.0
Jamie Mackie: Brought his usual spirit and enthusiasm, good goal and just gave the team that little more. 7.0

Watford

Manuel Almunia: Wasted time regularly to no avail, some good saves but beaten by good goals. 6.5
Lloyd Doyley: Played well but tired towards the end, stretched more often in second half. 6.5
Gabriele Angella: Two good goals but defended poorly in the second half. 7.0
Joel Ekstrand: Always second to the ball, on another day could have been sent off. 6.0
Marco Faraoni: Lost the ball too often in the second half, never really got going. 6.0
Sean Murray: Relatively anonymous, only remembered he was on the pitch 30 minutes in. 6.0
Christian Battocchio: Kept the ball nicely in the first but tired quickly in the second, giving his defence no protection. 6.0
Daniel Pudil: Linked nicely with the front players but didn’t see the ball often enough. 6.5
Ikechi Anya: Watford’s best player, consistently drove with the ball at his feet and got the team going. 7.5
Fernando Forestieri: Created little, didn’t look too interested in tracking back either. 6.0
Troy Deeney: Tried his best to help Anya, good movement but never really got a chance in the box. . 6.5

Substitutions

Almen Abdi: Ineffective, subbed 20 minutes after coming on. 5.5
Marco Casetti: Brought on to save the point, he didn’t. 6.0
Diego Fabbrini: Looked bright and inventive but not enough time to do something. 6.5

Man of the Match

Andy Reid: You cannot afford to give this man the space Watford did in the second half. Controlled it from then on and with him at the helm there was only going to be one winner once Forest had got back into the game. 8.0
