Birmingham City chase League 1 goal machine

Championship promotion chasers Birmingham City have again been linked with a summer transfer swoop for Walsall star man Tom Bradshaw according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 23 year old Welsh international striker has played a key part for a Walsall side who have continued to defy the odds and mount a promotion push in League 1 this season. The Saddlers are bracing themselves for plenty of transfer interest in the summer with Birmingham City understood to be leading the chase for the player’s signature.

Bradshaw has netted 18 goals for his club this season in addition to the 20 goals which he scored during his first season at The Bescot Stadium after joining the club from Shrewsbury Town in June 2014.

The youngster has one year remaining on his contract with The Saddlers and could become one of the Football League’s hottest properties this summer. Birmingham City are likely to face significant competition to sign the player with Championship rivals Blackburn Rovers, Preston North End and Reading all said to be interested in the striker.

Bradshaw started his career as a youngster at Welsh club Aberystwyth Town before moving into the Football League to play for Shrewsbury Town prior to his move to Walsall.

The striker recently received his first call up to the Welsh senior international side and could yet make the final squad for the European Championships in the summer.
