No takeover interest for Nottingham Forest

Greek millionaire Evangelos Marinakis is not interested in launching a takeover bid for mid table Championship outfit Nottingham Forest according to the Nottingham Post.

The 48 year old shipping businessman has been linked with a takeover bid for the Midlands club. Marinakis is the Owner of Greek club Olympiakos and is worth around £650 million but reports in Greece say that he will not be showing a financial interest in Nottingham Forest.

Current Forest Owner Fawaz Al Hasawi has recently stated that he would be willing to sell the club should he receive an acceptable offer from an investor who he feels could take the club further forward than himself. The Kuwait born Al Hasawi family purchased the club in July 2012 with ambitious long term aspirations to take Forest back to the Premier League but almost four years have passed at The City Ground and Forest find themselves in the bottom half of the Championship table and set for yet another campaign in the division next season.

The club have sacked no less than seven Managers during the Al Hasawi reign at The City Ground and the club’s Owners have become under pressure from supporters after a turbulent time in charge of the club.

Nottingham Forest are currently in 16th position in the Championship table and have won just once in their last nine league matches.
