A York City supporter had the last laugh on his side’s farcical season last night after listing under fire Manager Jackie McNamara for sale on eBay.

The Scot who is now referred to by some fans as ‘Sackie McNamara’ after coming in for huge criticism following some awful results since his appointment as Manager in early November has been listed for sale with a starting price of just 1p.

The eBay sale item is said to be ‘free to a good home’ and the seller offers free postage and packaging to anyone who wishes to take the former Celtic full back away from Bootham Crescent and off the club’s hands.

Despite winning just four of his 24 matches in charge and recording a dreadful 67% loss percentage, bids for the Conference Premier bound Minstermen’s boss surprisingly hit as much as £5.50 after receiving no less than 14 bids.

York City are currently second bottom of the League 2 table and are seven points from safety with just eight league matches left to play. The majority of City’s remaining league fixtures see the club face sides in the top seven of the League 2 table and many supporters have already given up on any hopes of Football League survival. The Minstermen are without a victory in their last eight league fixtures.
