Tyler Walker

Burton boost squad with England U20 striker

Burton Albion aim to move a step closer to the Championship by bolstering their striking options with the loan signing of Nottingham Forest striker Tyler Walker. Nigel Clough raids his former club, and club he has been linked with managing next season, to complete the signing of the youngster, who is the son of Forest legend Des.

The 19-year-old officially joins on a youth loan but won’t make his Brewers debut at home to Oldham Athletic on Saturday because of international duty. He has made a total of fifteen appearances for the City Ground club so far this season.

With Walker currently away with the England Under-20 side, and will face Canada on Sunday, he could make his Burton debut not in the Easter Monday clash at Millwall but the home clash with Bury the following weekend.

Although Clough’s side top the League One table, they are actually the lowest scorers out of all of the top six teams. They have only scored more than Bradford City, Port Vale and Southend United in the top half, therefore the introduction of the talented Walker should only be seen as a positive.

Having come through the academy, Walker made his first-team debut as a substitute against Rotherham United towards the end of last season. He scored in a Capital One Cup tie defeat to Walsall earlier this season.
