QPR and Brentford receive FA fine

The Football Association have confirmed that Queens Park Rangers and Brentford have both received fines after ‘failing to ensure their players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion’ following their Championship encounter on March 12th 2016.

QPR won the game 3-0, but an incident in the 48th minute of the match led to an investigation taking place. Following an Independent Regulatory Commission hearing yesterday (22nd March), both clubs were found guilty.

The incident led to yellow cards behind handed out to QPR pair Karl Henry and Junior Hoilett, whilst Brentford’s Ryan Woods was also cautioned following the incident. The incident itself was Henry’s robust challenge on Woods, causing both sides to come together, meaning the referee had to step in, as did the Football Association.

Both clubs denied the charge after it was originally reported after being included in match referee Fred Graham’s report. As a result of being found guilty, both clubs have also been warned of their future conduct.

Queens Park Rangers have been fined the sum of £7,5000, whilst Brentford have been charged £10,000.

In the Championship Fair Play League, QPR and Brentford are positioned 17th and 14th respectively. Top of that table is Charlton Athletic with 81 bookings and 7 red cards. Bottom of that league and the ‘fairest’ team so far is Championship table toppers Burnley, who have amassed 43 yellows and zero reds.
