Hull City linked with move for French ace

Championship promotion chasers Hull City have been linked with a move for FC Koln striker Anthony Modeste according to reports in the Hull Daily Mail.

The 27 year old goal machine has had an impressive season in the Bundesliga scoring 11 goals in 24 appearances for FC Koln with the club targeting a solid top half of the table finish.

Reports in Germany have stated that English duo Hull City and Crystal Palace are considering a move for the striker however City’s potential interest could depend on whether the club are promoted to the Premier League come May.

French striker Modeste started his career in his homeland with Nice and an impressive loan spell at Angers soon resulted in a big move to Bordeaux. The player made 52 appearances for the club and scored 13 goals but struggled to retain his place in the side at times and spent time away from the club on loan at Blackburn Rovers and Bastia.

In July 2013 the player moved to the Bundesliga to play for 1899 Hoffenheim and it was here where the player made his name scoring 23 goals in 62 games for Die Kraichgauer. Modeste then joined FC Koln in the summer for an undisclosed fee.

The player is under contract with current club FC Koln until summer 2019 and Hull City are likely to have to make a significant transfer bid for the striker’s services.
