Peterborough defender called up to young lions squad

Norwich City’s on loan defender Harry Toffolo has been named in the England Under 20 squad.

The defender, currently at Peterborough, will be in the squad for the Young Lions’ game at Doncaster Rovers’s Keepmoat Stadium on Easter Sunday.

Canada U20s are the opposition at the Keepmoat, and the Young Lions will hope to continue their recent run of good form on their own back yard.

Toffolo is on loan from Premier League side Norwich City and started in the 3-2 defeat to Port Vale at the weekend.

The game is the first match in permanent charge for boss Downing, who had previously been in temporary charge of the team.

He has already enjoyed good wins against the Czech Republic, Holland and Turkey.

Toffolo will miss the Good Friday meeting with Coventry City, a game which is live on sky sports.

Coventry will also be without a few of their star players.

Their striker Adam Armstrong is in the England Under 19 squad, while midfielder James Maddison and defender Jack Stephens are in the Under 20 and Under 21 squad respectively.
