Swansea eye £5 million deal for Brighton target

Swansea City are looking to put together a £5 million bid for Gremio striker and Brighton target Miler Bolanos, according to The Sun.

Brighton were understood to be interested in the Ecuador striker in January and reportedly made a club record bid for the player’s services.  However no deal was done and Bolanos ended up moving to Brazilian side Gremio in February.

Bolanos may not spend long at the club despite only signing for them a month ago, with Premier League Swansea City set to come calling in summer.

Previous to playing for Gremio, Bolanos had scored 44 goals in 76 league appearances for Emelec after signing for the club in January 2013.  The striker has also scored six goals in 12 games for his national side, Ecuador.

Brighton somewhat famously went unbeaten for the first 21 games of the Championship season but then their form dwindled, with the club falling into the play-off places.

The club are now unbeaten in their last four games, winning two of these games with emphatic 4-0 scorelines. These results have helped to lift the club back up to fourth in the table, nine points away from leaders Burnley.
