Plymouth Argyle, Plymouth Argyle sign highly rated striker

Plymouth Argyle sign highly rated striker

League 2 promotion chasers Plymouth Argyle have completed the signing of Fleetwood Town striker Jamille Matt on a short term loan deal according to The Plymouth Herald.

The 25 year old Jamaican striker will spend the next four weeks on loan at Home Park and is scheduled to return to parent club Fleetwood Town on 9 April.

Plymouth Argyle Manager Derek Adams has been on the lookout for another striker since Ryan Brunt suffered a serious knee injury earlier this month and Matt’s build and power were big factors in the Argyle Manager’s decision to bring the striker to Home Park.

Matt started his career in non league with Midlands outfit Sutton Coldfield Town and joined Conference Premier club Kidderminster Harriers on non contract terms in November 2010. The striker soon became a success story at Aggborough with Matt going on to make 62 appearances for The Harriers scoring 22 goals during a three year spell at the club.

In November 2013 the striker joined Fleetwood Town for a club record transfer fee and despite a good start to his career the player has suffered a number of injury problems which have restricted his progress on the Fylde coast. Matt has spent this season trying to get his career back on track and has made 20 appearances for Fleetwood Town scoring three goals. The player was also loaned to Stevenage earlier this season and scored once in 8 appearances for the club.

Matt could make his debut for Plymouth Argyle when they face Accrington Stanley at The Wham Stadium tomorrow afternoon.
