Charlton Athletic fans plan huge walkout protest

Charlton Athletic supporters are planning to act out a mock funeral and a mass walkout during Sunday’s Championship fixture against Middlesbrough at The Valley according to News Shopper.

The Addicks are enduring a terrible season in the Championship and find themselves second bottom of the table seven points away from safety.

The relegation threatened South East London club have the embarrassment of having the division’s worst goal difference after conceding 66 league goals while they have won just once in their last seven matches. The current poor state of affairs at the club have angered many supporters with the blame being directed towards unpopular owner Roland Duchatelet.

Supporters have formed the Coalition Against Roland Duchatelet (CARD) group in protest of the Owner’s running of the club. The group have already organised a number of post match protests but their efforts will move up a gear this weekend. CARD are planning a funeral march before Sunday’s home fixture against Middlesbrough while fans are also being encouraged to walk out of the match in the 74th minute highlighting the 74 goals which the club have conceded this season.

Sunday’s Championship fixture at The Valley will be televised live on Sky Sports giving supporters the opportunity to voice their concerns to a national television audience.
