Hull City apologise to fans for ticketing blunder

Hull City have made a public apology after ticket scanning problems caused thousands of supporters to miss kick off at last night’s FA Cup Fifth Round Replay with Arsenal at The KC Stadium according to the Hull Daily Mail.

It has been reported that there were still lengthy queues outside The KC Stadium after kick off last night with some supporters not gaining entry into the stadium until 20 minutes after the match had started.

It was previously thought that the large queues were as a result of Tigers fans arriving at the stadium late for the unusual 7pm kick off time however it has now emerged that scanning issues with paper ‘print at home’ tickets on the turnstiles were the cause of the admission problems.

The entry issues marked a miserable night for Hull City supporters as Arsenal attacking duo Olivier Giroud and Theo Walcott both netted twice to subject The Tigers to a heavy 4-0 defeat as they exited this year’s FA Cup competition. Arsenal’s reward for the victory over Hull City is a home tie against Watford in the next round.

Hull City will now solely focus on securing a return to the Premier League with the club sitting in fourth place in the Championship table with games in hand over automatic promotion rivals Middlesbrough and Brighton & Hove Albion.

Officials at Hull City have this morning issued an apology to fans for the inconvenience caused as a result of the scanning problems on the turnstiles last night.
