Dutchman set to swap Championship clubs

Sky Sports understands that Huddersfield Town have made a bid to try and sign Wolverhampton Wanderers winger Rajiv van La Parra on loan. The Dutchman is currently out of favour at Molineux, and hasn’t featured in any of Kenny Jackett’s matchday squads in the last two games.

The Terriers were linked with van La Parra earlier this season, but no move materialised. Now the player is seemingly available, there is a good chance that David Wagner will soon be welcoming a new signing to the John Smith’s Stadium.

The 24-year-old moved out to promotion hopefuls Brighton & Hove Albion earlier this season whilst the Seagulls were suffering from an injury crisis. He impressed in that spell, so much so that he returned straight into Jackett’s starting eleven on his return.

Jackett confirmed that they have received an offer for the wide-man, but also suggested that his Wolverhampton Wanderers career is not necessarily coming to an end in the long-term,

“We’ve have an approach, nothing has been set up or decided yet. We will see, we’ll be deciding in good time this week. He’s not a player I’ve used for the last couple of games.

“We’ll see going forward some time out of the firing line helps him to come back and come back stronger because he is a capable player. It’s not the end (of his Wolves career).”

The ex-Heerenveen forward has featured 16 times for Wolves this season, but isn’t set to extend that tally any time soon. He is highly unlikely to be involved in their game at home to Bristol City tonight. Perhaps he could make his Huddersfield debut this weekend at home to table-topping Burnley.
