Bristol Rovers boss may enter loan market

Bristol Rovers Manager Darrell Clarke has admitted that he may be forced into the loan market following injuries to a number of key players according to the Bristol Post.

Experienced midfielder Liam Lawrence was the latest Bristol Rovers player to leave the field with an injury after limping off with a calf problem early in this afternoon’s 2-0 victory at Notts County.

Veteran Lawrence joins fellow Rovers players Stuart Sinclair (groin), Rory Gaffney (hamstring) and Ellis Harrison (ankle) on the injury list and it has been reported that Rovers boss Clarke is now considering bringing loan reinforcements to The Memorial Stadium.

Bristol Rovers are enjoying an excellent campaign on their return to League 2 after winning the Conference Premier Play Offs in May. The Pirates have a real chance of promotion with the club currently sitting in the Play Off positions in 6th place and Manager Darrell Clarke is hoping to avoid further injuries to ensure that his side have the best possible chance of promotion to League 1.

Rovers are currently 3 points clear of 8th placed Leyton Orient and face crucial home matches against fellow Play Off chasers AFC Wimbledon and Mansfield Town within the next 7 days. With the club currently short on numbers, Manager Darrell Clarke could opt to bring in new faces before the midweek clash with AFC Wimbledon.
