Boro striker confident of returning back to the top of the Championship

Middlesbrough striker David Nugent says his side need to carry on the form from the last two games into what he describes as a ‘massive’ meeting with Blackburn this evening.

Boro have beaten both and Fulham in the last week and now face a trip to Ewood Park to face Blackburn Rovers, in what is one of the two games in hand over Burnley and Hull.

Aitor Karanka’s side are just one point off the league summit and will return to the top should they leave Ewood Park with all three points.
“We just need to carry that form from Cardiff and Fulham on now,” said Nugent.
“It’s a massive game on Tuesday and if we win that we can go top of the league so that’s the incentive for us.
“We’ve got games in hand, two on Burnley and one on Hull. If we win those we go top of the league and that’s where we want to be at the end of the season.
“That’s the aim, the last 14 are going to be tough now but we’re looking forward to it.”
