Barnsley sign young Middlesbrough star

League 1 side Barnsley have signed Middlesbrough winger Harry Chapman on a loan deal until the end of the season according to The Northern Echo.

The 18 year old Hartlepool born winger is regarded as one of Middlesbrough’s most promising young talents and his loan move to Oakwell will provide the youngster with his first taste of senior football.

Chapman has starred for Boro’s Under 21s side during the last 12 months and helped the side to a domestic treble last season. The exciting young winger has been equally as impressive for the Teessiders in the UEFA Youth League and leapt to worldwide stardom after scoring a wonder goal against Italian club Torino at The Riverside Stadium.

The winger is highly rated by Boro Manager Aitor Karanka and has been tipped to play a key role for the senior side in the near future. The player’s performances in the UEFA Youth League has resulted in both fans and the media calling for Boro’s young star to be given a first team opportunity.

Chapman joins a Barnsley side in good form with the club having lost just once in their last 10 matches. After a poor start to the season, Barnsley’s recent excellent run of results has seen the The Tykes rapidly climb the League 1 table and the club now sit just 6 points off a Play Off spot in 10th position.

The youngster could make his Barnsley debut at Crewe Alexandra tomorrow.
