Premier League clubs hunt Wednesday starlet

Sheffield Wednesday starlet George Hirst is attracting a host of Premier League interest, reports the Daily Mail.

The 17 year old striker is son of Wednesday legend David Hirst.

He is rated as one of the hottest prospects in academy football right now and is being chased by a host of Premier League clubs.

Chelsea, West Ham, Newcastle and Southampton have all been credited with an interest in the England Under 17 international, whilst Leeds are also said to be watching him.

Hirst only turned 17 earlier this month but has already featured for Wednesday’s under 21 side, having scored a hatful of goals in The Owls youth teams.

The striker further added to his reputation last week, with two goals for England Under 17s on his debut against Germany.

Remaining at Hillsborough would be likely to allow Hirst a faster route into senior football, although a switch to the Premier League may be difficult to turn down.

Georges father, David is a Wednesday legend and scored 128 goals in 359 games for The Owls, including in the FA Cup Final at Wembley.
