Rams boss calls for unity ahead of Brentford clash

Derby County Manager Darren Wassall has called for unity from the club’s fans and players ahead of tomorrow’s trip to Brentford according to the Derby Telegraph.

The Rams have not won in their last eight matches, a torrid run which dates back to Boxing Day and a run which recently cost former Manager Paul Clement his job.

Wassall has been given the Manager’s job for the time being but the club’s fortunes did not improve last weekend after suffering a 1-0 home defeat to lowly MK Dons. Despite the current negativity amongst supporters, The Rams boss insists that unity can help drive the club forward.

“We are all in it together – it is all for one and one for all at this club,” Wassall told the Derby Telegraph.

“This team was top of the League at Christmas. They have not become bad players overnight.”

“We were very disappointed last Saturday but we have regrouped and we are ready to go again” the Rams boss added.

“We will be going out with a really positive mindset. We are determined to put on a show and we are very positive that things can turn around.”

“We need a win, we know that, we are not stupid and we certainly know we have got the ability in the dressing room.”

“If they (the players) can stick together, which they will do, and they can commit themselves as much as they are doing in training we will turn this around, most definitely.”

Derby County have a good recent record against Brentford having lost just twice in the last 13 contests with the West London club.
