Ipswich Town goalkeeper Bartosz Bialkowski has told the official club website that he plans on signing a new contract with the club. The 6ft 4″ Pole shotstopper has been attracting interest from several clubs, hoping to lure him away from Portman Road.
The East Anglian and Daily Times understands that the clubs all hoping to sign him are based in China. Chinese Football has been in the headlines recently because of their mass spending on players when acquiring them from major European clubs.
The 28-year-old has been enjoying a run in Mick McCarthy’s starting eleven, mainly because of the injury to regular number one Dean Gerken. However the recent form of the ex-Southampton man could even lead to him becoming the outright number one.

Bialowski, who also has experience of English football in the form of a loan moves to Barnsley and permanent spell with Notts County, insists that contract negotiations are very close to coming to a conclusion,
“I’m really close to signing a new contract here and I’m very happy about that.
“It’s a great place to be and I’m looking forward to staying here for a longer period.
“I’ve had phone calls asking if I would be interested in something else but I’m not. I’ve not looked at anything else but staying here.”
The six-cap former Poland Under-20 international is again expected to retain his place between the sticks next Tuesday when the Tractor Boys travel to title challengers Hull City. Ipswich have lost four of their last five matches in all competitions.
