Premier League clubs keeping tabs on Posh defender

A host of Premier League clubs are currently tracking Peterborough United defender Ricardo Santos according to the Peterborough Telegraph.

Posh Manager Graham Westley has admitted that top division clubs are showing an interest in his young centre half and could make an approach for the player’s signature in the summer. Portuguese giants Benfica were said to have made a bid for the youngster last summer.

The 20 year old Portuguese centre half has impressed with his performances for Posh this season. He has made 60 appearances in total for the League 1 club so far during his blossoming career at London Road.

The youngster started his career as a youngster at Dagenham and Redbridge but the player failed to make the grade at Victoria Road. Santos was loaned out to non league side Billericay Town during his time with The Daggers. The centre half dropped into non league football permanently after his release by Dagenham & Redbridge in 2013 joining Essex club Thurrock. After impressing in the Isthmian League the Almada born defender joined Peterborough United in February 2014 signing a three and a half year deal at London Road.

Santos has been described as ‘Marmite’ by the Posh fan base with the club’s supporters split between loving and hating the big centre half.
