Oldham add Amadi-Holloway on loan

Oldham Athletic have completed the loan signing of Aaron Amadi-Holloway from Wycombe Wanderers. The former Bristol City youngster goes straight into the squad for tomorrow’s encounter against Wigan Athletic.

The 23-year-old has been assigned the number ten shirt for his time at Boundary Park. He joins the Lancashire club on a temporary deal for the remainder of the season.

He made the move to Adams Park in 2014, and has since gone on to score eight goals in 64 matches for the Chairboys. The Cardiff-born forward had a brief spell with Newport County as well, which is where he made his Football League debut in March 2014 against Morecambe.

In his young days, Amadi-Holloway came through the ranks with Cardiff City before leaving to link up with Bristol City in 2011.

Speaking to the official Wycombe Wanderers website, manger Gareth Ainsworth says now is a good opportunity for the striker to go out and play, which is ultimately all he wants to do,

“Aaron’s been unhappy of late because he hasn’t been able to force his way into the team, so this move is best for all parties.

“By granting his wish to move out on loan, we might now have the chance to bring in a striker who will give us a new dimension and hopefully bring us more goals, which is what we’ve been lacking lately.

“But we will only bring someone in if they’re the right character for the team and if we can afford to do so.”

He has struggled for game time with the League Two play-off chasers this season and will certainly be hoping to guide the Latics away from the League Oee relegation zone. John Sheridan said earlier this week that he had been hoping to add a striker to his squad.
